Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infections are thought to be responsible for more than 90% of cervical and anal cancers and can also cause vaginal, vulvar, penile, and some types of mouth and throat cancers. HPV can also cause genital warts in both males and females.
YOU HAVE THE POWER TO PREVENT THESE CANCERS WITH THE HPV VACCINE.
There are three HPV vaccines available and they are all safe and effective. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) closely monitor the HPV vaccines, just like all vaccines, to make sure they are safe for the public. The HPV vaccine has not been shown to cause any serious side effects.
